ProGARM 9880 Waterproof Trouser, 47.0 cal/cm²

The ProGARM 9880 is a waterproof arc-rated trouser built from inherent VXS+ fabric, certified to IEC 61482-2 Class 2 with an arc rating (ATPV) of 47 cal/cm². It forms one half of a two-garment set and should be worn with the compatible ProGARM 9750 jacket, giving a full foul-weather switching suit for MV and HV work outdoors.

Fabric and Protection

The outer layer is a 395 gsm VXS+ inherent special weave with a waterproof membrane, over a 200 gsm VXS+ woven lining. Because the flame-resistant properties are inherent to the fibre rather than a chemical treatment, they last the lifetime of the garment and do not wash out. The fabric is colourfast with less than 3% washing shrinkage, and the garment is fully lined for warmth and comfort in exposed substations.

FAQs

Is the ProGARM 9880 a standalone garment?

No. The datasheet states it is part of a two-garment set and should be worn with the compatible ProGARM 9750 jacket. Worn together they provide full-body waterproof arc protection, which is the intended configuration for switching work.

How should the 9880 be washed and stored?

Per the manufacturer: do not bleach, do not boil and use detergent only, never soap-based products. Dirty clothing can reduce protection. Store in clean, dry conditions away from direct strong sunlight, and follow the care label.
