ProGARM 7720 Combat Trousers, Class 1, 12.8 cal/cm²
The ProGARM 7720 is an arc-rated combat trouser for personnel working on or near energised electrical equipment. It carries an open arc rating of 12.8 cal/cm² (EBT50) and a box test rating of Class 1 at 4 kA, with flame-resistant and antistatic properties built into the fabric itself. A practical choice for switching, maintenance and general substation work where the arc flash risk assessment calls for arc-rated lower-body protection. If you are unsure what rating your site requires, our arc flash information section explains how incident energy relates to PPE selection.
Fabric and Protection
The trousers are made from VXS+ woven inherent fabric at 300gsm. Because the protection is inherent, the FR properties last the lifetime of the garment and do not wash out, which matters when clothing is laundered week in, week out. The fabric offers abrasion resistance up to 100,000 cycles, colourfastness and less than 3% washing shrinkage.

FAQs
Do the FR properties wash out over time?
No. The VXS+ fabric is inherent, so the flame-resistant and arc-rated properties are part of the fibre and last the garment’s lifetime. Follow the care label: do not bleach or boil, avoid soap-based products, and store clean and dry.
Is 12.8 cal/cm² enough for our switchroom?
That depends on the incident energy at each location, which an arc flash study determines. Class 1 box test and 12.8 cal/cm² open arc suits many MV and LV switching tasks, but always match the garment rating to your site assessment.
