ProGARM 7418 Arc Trouser, 9.5 cal/cm²

The ProGARM 7418 is a Hi-Viz Yellow combat pocket trouser with an improved fit, CE certified for arc flash protection to Class 1 with an EBT50 arc rating of 9.5 cal/cm². It is made from VXS+, a 250 g/m² woven inherent fabric, so the flame resistant and arc protective properties last the lifetime of the garment and do not wash out. For switching and maintenance work where an arc flash risk assessment calls for this level of protection, it pairs naturally with the rest of our arc flash protection range.

Care and Use

Do not bleach, do not boil, and use detergents only rather than soap based products. Dirty clothing can reduce protection, so wash according to the care label and store in clean, dry conditions away from direct strong sunlight. If you are unsure whether 9.5 cal/cm² is adequate for your incident energy levels, our arc flash studies service can quantify the hazard, and the what is arc flash guide explains the basics.

FAQs

What does 9.5 cal/cm² mean on the ProGARM 7418?

It is the EBT50 arc rating, the incident energy level at which the fabric protects against a second degree burn in arc flash testing. PPE selection should be based on the incident energy at each task location, typically established through an arc flash study.

Do the flame resistant properties wash out over time?

No. The VXS+ fabric is inherent, so the FR and arc protective properties are built into the fibre and last the lifetime of the garment. Follow the care label and keep the garment clean, as dirt can reduce protection.
