The Lyngsøe ARC-LR4057 is a hi-vis, arc-rated waterproof coverall for substation and switchroom work in harsh weather. Tested to EN 61482-2:2020, APC 1, with an ATPV of 8.6 cal/cm², it suits authorised persons, utility crews and contractors who need flame-retardant, wind and waterproof protection outdoors.
Lyngsøe Hi-Viz Coverall, Class 1 (ARC-LR4057)
The Lyngsøe ARC-LR4057 is a multinorm hi-vis coverall in an extra strong PVC quality, built for outdoor electrical work where arc flash protection and weather protection have to come in the same garment. It is tested to EN 61482-2:2020 at APC 1, with an ATPV of 8.6 cal/cm² and an ELIM of 7 cal/cm², and it is wind and waterproof to more than 20,000 mm. For switching or maintenance work on a wet Irish forecourt, that combination matters. Arc-rated clothing that soaks through in the first hour does not get worn properly.

Where it fits in your PPE selection
An APC 1 garment with an ATPV of 8.6 cal/cm² covers many LV and MV switching tasks, but the coverall must always be matched to the incident energy on your arc flash label or study, not chosen by habit. If you are unsure what your switchrooms require, our arc flash studies establish the incident energy at each location, and the arc flash information hub explains how the ratings work. Browse the wider arc flash protection range for matching hoods, gloves and face protection.
FAQs
Is this coverall suitable for MV switching in the rain?
It is arc rated to EN 61482-2:2020 APC 1 with an ATPV of 8.6 cal/cm² and waterproof above 20,000 mm, so it is designed for exactly that kind of outdoor work. Whether APC 1 is sufficient depends on the incident energy at your switchgear, which your arc flash study or risk assessment must confirm.
What is the difference between ATPV and ELIM on this garment?
ATPV (8.6 cal/cm²) is the incident energy at which there is a 50% probability of second-degree burn through the fabric. ELIM (7 cal/cm²) is the newer, more conservative limit below which burn injury is unlikely. Many specifiers now select PPE against the ELIM figure.
