FAQs
What does the 18.9 cal/cm² rating mean?
It is the open-arc test result (EBT, the breakopen threshold energy) measured to EN 61482-1-1, telling you the incident energy the fabric withstands before breakopen. The sweatshirt is also box-tested to EN 61482-1-2 class 1. Match the rating against the incident-energy figure from your arc flash assessment.
Why does the hi-vis class change with size?
EN ISO 20471 class depends on the minimum area of fluorescent and reflective material. Smaller garments have less surface area, so sizes XS to S achieve class 2 while sizes M to 3XL achieve class 3. Check the class on the garment label against your site requirements.
