FRISTADS Flamestat Gore-Tex Hi-Vis Jacket CL 3, 4095 GXE (Yellow/Navy)
A fully waterproof, arc-rated hi-vis jacket from Fristads, part of our arc flash protection range. The 4095 GXE uses a 2-layer Gore-Tex shell with a flame-resistant lining, arc tested to EN 61482-1-2 Class 2 (box test) and open-arc tested to EN 61482-1-1 at an EBT of 49.1 cal/cm². That makes it a proper answer for authorised persons, MV/HV switching crews and contractors who need wet-weather PPE that is genuinely arc rated, not just flame resistant. Background on the hazard itself is on our what is arc flash page.

FAQs
Is the 4095 GXE arc rated or just flame resistant?
It is arc rated. The jacket passes the EN 61482-1-2 box test at Class 2 and has an open-arc result of 49.1 cal/cm² (EBT) to EN 61482-1-1, in addition to EN ISO 11612 flame protection. That is a different claim from ordinary FR rainwear.
Can it be worn for outdoor switching in wet weather?
Yes. EN 343 Class 3/3 is the highest rain protection level, the water column exceeds 10,000 mm, and the ePTFE Gore-Tex membrane stays breathable at RET 8.33. Hi-vis performance is EN ISO 20471 Class 3 in sizes M-3XL, so it suits outdoor substation and overhead line work.
