Fristads FLAMESTAT High Vis Coverall Class 3 8175 ATHS

The Fristads FLAMESTAT 8175 ATHS is a high-visibility, arc-rated coverall for electrical work where you need to be seen and protected at the same time. The flame protection is inherent to the fabric, a 45% modacrylic, 35% cotton, 18% polyamide and 2% anti-static fibre blend at 300 g/m², so it does not wash out. It is approved after 50 washes and leasing laundry-tested to ISO 15797, which matters if your coveralls go through an industrial laundry contract.

Arc and Flame Ratings

For substation and switchroom work the key figures are the electric arc certifications. The coverall is approved to EN 61482-1-2 class 1 (box test) and tested to the open-arc method EN 61482-1-1 with an EBT of 12.8 cal/cm² and HAF of 84.2%. Fristads also certify garment combinations to EN 61482-1-2 class 2, so check the electric arc table if your arc flash risk assessment calls for a higher class. Is this coverall suitable for MV switching work?

It is certified to EN 61482-1-2 class 1 with an open-arc EBT of 12.8 cal/cm², which covers many LV and MV switching tasks. Whether it is sufficient for your site depends on the incident energy at each switchgear location, which an arc flash study establishes. Fristads certify garment combinations to class 2 where a single layer is not enough.

Does the flame protection wash out?

No. The flame protection is inherent to the modacrylic fibre blend rather than a chemical treatment, and the garment is approved after 50 washes. It is also laundry-tested to ISO 15797, so it tolerates industrial leasing laundry processes without losing its certified ratings.
